Founder of Voice Mate
Forward Only When You Do Not Answer
Conditional forwarding sends a call to Voice Mate only when you are busy, do not pick up or cannot be reached. Your phone still rings first.
People worry that forwarding means every call goes to an assistant. It does not have to. With forwarding set for 'no answer', your phone rings as usual and Voice Mate steps in after a few seconds. That is the best of both: you stay reachable for the calls you want and nothing is lost on the ones you miss.
If you want to be left alone for a while, switch forwarding to 'always' during that time and back afterwards.
Getting Started
Setup is easy: follow the steps below. You need the Voice Mate app on your phone.
Get the app
-
1. Choose 'when unanswered'
Use the Voice Mate app or the carrier code **61*. Keep 'busy' on too if you often take two calls at once.
-
2. Set the ring time
Some carriers let you set how many seconds your phone rings before forwarding. 20 seconds suits most people.
-
3. Add 'unreachable'
Forward calls when your phone is off or out of signal, so they never reach a dead line.
-
4. Check a summary the next day
Review what the assistant captured and adjust the greeting if needed.
