Set Your Name And Pronoun For The Assistant

In your profile you can set your name and how the assistant refers to you. The assistant uses it when it says you are unavailable.

Callers hear sentences like 'Sam is currently unavailable'. If you prefer 'he', 'she' or 'they', the assistant says that instead of repeating your name. This is a profile setting, not a sign-up question. You can set it later, and the assistant updates in the background.

If you have written your own greeting, the assistant leaves it as you wrote it.

Getting Started

Setup is easy: follow the steps below. You need the Voice Mate app on your phone.

1. 1. Open your profile

   Go to Settings and open your profile.

2. 2. Pick how the assistant refers to you

   Choose he, she or they. If you choose nothing, the assistant uses your first name.

   The assistant is updated in the background, usually within a minute.

   Check that the assistant refers to you the way you want.
