Test Your Ai Voicemail In Five Minutes

A short test call shows how your greeting sounds, how the assistant handles questions and what the summary looks like. Here is a five minute routine.

Most problems with voicemail setups are found by the first real caller. A test costs five minutes and finds them first. Use a second phone, and play three roles: a normal caller, a caller who says very little and a caller who asks something you have not covered.

Repeat the test after every big change to the greeting or instructions.

Getting Started

Setup is easy: follow the steps below. You need the Voice Mate app on your phone.

Get the app

  1. 1. Call as a normal caller

Say your name, a reason and a number. Check that the summary has all three.

  2. 2. Call and stay quiet

Let the assistant ask and say nothing. See what the summary says and whether the silent-caller text is sent.

  3. 3. Ask something unexpected

Ask for a price or an appointment you have not covered. The assistant should say you will call back.

  4. 4. Listen to the recording

Play it back in the app. Is the voice clear, the pace right and the greeting what you want?
